Perennial Yoga

I have taught gentle yoga classes in studios, community centers, assisted living, and other facilities.

Saturday Yoga: On weekends I offer private yoga sessions at home for those with limited mobility. Yoga can be practiced while seated or even while in bed with the same benefits as when it is practiced in a studio. The movements improve flexibility, strength and lung capacity.

A recent study based on a chair yoga protocol developed by my teacher, Robin Gueth, proved a regular weekly yoga practice measurably improved respiratory health of traumatic brain injury patients, who are vulnerable to pneumonia and other respiratory infections, as well as improving overall subjective wellbeing.

It gives me so much pleasure to see my students glowing when they finish what they describe as “a good workout” in their chairs. Restoring my chair yogis’ energy, awareness of the present moment, and overall vitality enhances my own; this brings joy to their practice and to mine.
